All Dry Skin Products Are Not Created Equal

Suffering from dry, itchy skin is a problem for women everywhere. Especially if, for whatever reason, you have to spend a lot of time outdoors exposed to the sun. The extra skin care that is needed to fight this condition is a continuing hassle. The skin cream that you choose for your daily anti-aging skin care routine is the most important part of that routine.

When you are shopping for skin care products, always remember the law of cravat emptor (buyer beware!). The quality of any skin cream will be determined by it’s ingredients. There are skin care products out there that are bad for dry skin!

Any product that lists alcohol of any kind in their ingredients must be avoided. Alcohol will only help to dry your skin even more and make your condition worse.

Ingredients that make your skin cream “smell good” are useless for moisturizing. Creams that add fragrance will likely contain other useless fillers, as well.

Products that contain derivatives of natural products should also be avoided. Dioxane, which is artificially derived from coconut cream, is a perfect example. Health professionals believe that long term use of dioxane will cause all manner of skin problems, including cancer.

Using a product that contains the “essence” of anything is also a bad idea. Essences are actually man-made copies of the natural things that they are the essence of (ie: essence of coconut cream). Choosing products that contain extracts, which are made from the real thing, is much better.
